To repair damaged PVC pipe, simply cut the affected section, deburr and chamfer the remaining pipe ends, and glue the coupling (sold separately) to the Pro-Span piston spigot. Press the piston end onto the pipe and rotate a quarter turn, then apply glue to the other side of the pipe, extend the Pro-Span onto the pipe, and rotate a quarter turn.
