PVC Pressure Fittings: Resilient and Durable for Temperature-Controlled Systems

PVC pressure fittings are designed for pressure systems where temperatures will not exceed 140°F. These fittings are highly resilient, boasting both high-tensile and high-impact strength, making them a durable choice. Installation of these fittings requires the use of primer and solvent cement.

About Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is the sole manufacturer offering a comprehensive system of ABS, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, FlowGuard Gold, and ChemDrain pipe and fittings for both residential and commercial plumbing applications. As the industry's leading producer of cast iron and plastic pipe and fittings, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry provides the broadest range of standard and specialty DWV products.

Founded in 1901 and headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the company is American-owned and American-made, with seven plant locations across the United States. By combining modern technology with over a century of craftsmanship and experience, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry has built a proud legacy of commitment to the industry and its customers.

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry History

In 1901, W. Frank Dowd recognized the need for plumbing pipe in the newly industrialized, post-war South and established a small foundry in Charlotte, North Carolina to produce cast iron soil pipe and fittings. The original Charlotte Pipe and Foundry employed 25 workers.

Since then, Charlotte Pipe has become a trusted manufacturer of plumbing systems, leading the nation in the production of cast iron and plastic pipe and fittings. The company offers the industry's broadest range of standard and specialty DWV products, including a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS, FlowGuard Gold, and ChemDrain pipe and fittings for residential and commercial applications. All of Charlotte Pipe's products are proudly made in the U.S.A. and meet all ASTM requirements.

To better serve its customers, Charlotte Pipe has strategically located manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Texas, and Utah. The company's headquarters remain in Charlotte, North Carolina, and its seven plant locations across the United States enable the distribution of its exclusively American-made products around the world. Charlotte Pipe employs more than 1,500 loyal, hard-working Americans, guided by the philosophy of its founder to produce the best possible product and provide the highest quality service to its customers.

Mission Statement: Integrity is the foundation, and meeting the expectations of customers, associates, and owners is the commitment.

Product Features and Information

PVC fittings are easy to install, lightweight, and feature smooth interior walls, making them well-suited for domestic water applications. PVC DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent) fittings are used in gravity-fed waste elimination systems and are designed for non-pressure systems where temperatures will not exceed 140°F.

PVC Schedule 80 pipe and fittings are intended for pressure applications where the temperature will not exceed 140°F. The thicker wall of Schedule 80 provides a higher pressure rating, making it highly durable and easy to install. This system also requires the use of primer and solvent cement.

PVC Schedule 40, on the other hand, is highly durable with superior tensile and impact strength, as well as better sound-deadening qualities compared to PVC Schedule 40 DWV Foam Core. Installation of the PVC Schedule 40 DWV system also requires primer and solvent cement, and gradual sloping DWV fittings must be used.

ConnecTite products offer a convenient solution for repair projects by eliminating the need for additional products like solvents or glue. These fittings allow users to easily place repairs and fittings where needed.

ABS Plus is a lightweight, PVC-cored system for drain, waste, and vent purposes only. It is designed for non-pressure systems where temperatures will not exceed 140°F and can be easily installed by solvent cementing without the need for a primer.
